Interview with Faculti.net

Dr. Nina Costa, researcher based at Aveiro University was invited for an interview by Faculti.net on March 2021, to talk about her work at the DesignOBS.pt project.

Faculti.net is a reference platform which enables users to get access to key ideas from the latest studies in various subjects, including design, distilled into bitesize media. They continuously expand the media library with news, analysis, facts, figures from multiples academic and research institutions worldwide. Design is part of the subjects in this platform, with 250 new insights added annually, with all the archives.
During her interview, Dr. Nina shared key insights and challenges of laying the foundations of a design observatory in Portugal, mentioning the specific case of doctoral academic design research, and the importance of having a more engaged community to support observation activities in the country.

National project that looks at design as a factor of innovation as well as cultural and socioeconomic development. The project collects and interprets data from the Portuguese Design ecosystem to promote its knowledge and to influence public policies.
